Under limited supervision, provides nursing care to assigned patients by utilizing the nursing process and meeting the established standards within the nursing department. The registered nurse is accountable for his/her nursing practice and assigned patients, and is an advocate for patient/families and nursing. Adheres to the principles of Service Care and the philosophy and mission of Mercy in all aspects of job performance.
About the position:
Under general supervision, ensures prompt and accurate services for patients, nurses, physicians and other staff. Interprets and evaluates the validity and safety of orders and prescriptions. Monitors the quality of pharmaceutical services provided. Dispenses medications in accordance with legal requireme! nts. Provides information to staff and clients regarding medic! ations and drug therapy. Maintains accurate records. Supervises the work of supportive personnel and verifies the activities of supportive personnel. Adheres to the principles of Service Care and the philosophy and mission of Mercy in all aspects of job performance.
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and licensure in the State of Iowa. Must have the ability to work independently and to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent situations. Must have basic typing skills and be familiar with computers and their functions. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
