STAFF PHYSICIAN

Description: Iowa State University is hiring STAFF PHYSICIAN right now, this occupation will be designated in Iowa. Thielen Student Health Center (TSHC) at Iowa State University is currently seeking applications for a Staff Physician. TSHC is the primary provider of health care services for the students of Iowa State University. It provides primary health care, mental health services, laboratory and radiology services, pharmacy services and physical therapy. In addition, the TSHC Prevention Services department provides leadership for a comprehensive approach to reduce health risks for students, foster a healthy campus environment, and support the academic success of students.
The Staff Physician will be responsible for providing high quality health care including preventive medicine, management or co-management of chronic diseases, and diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries for Iowa State University students and their spouses/domestic partners. He/she will collaborate care with mental health professionals, pharmacists and local health care practitioners as needed.
Required Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree from accredited medical school and 5 years of experience. Experience may include internship/residency.
Completion of primary care or emergency medicine residency.
Board certified or board eligible in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or other appropriate primary care specialty.
Must have or be able to obtain Iowa Medical License, Iowa State Controlled Substances Registration Certificate, and Federal Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with young adults or college students.
Experience working with diverse patient population.
Experience with NextGen or other Electronic Medical Record software.
