Assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining accurate records. A! ll duties are performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Qualifications/Experience
Must be high school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English. Must have good math skills, with some basic algebra. Training in a hospital pharmacy desirable. Some college preferred. Must type accurately and with moderate speed. One year of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy desirable. Experience in a health care facility desirable. Ability to work with computer systems required. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or national certification through any NCCA-accredited pharmacy technician certification program and examination or current Pharmacist-Intern Card required. Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days after employment. Must maintain a current Iowa Pharmacy Technician Registration and be in good stan! ding with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners. Must provide a! photocopy of a renewal certificate to the Pharmacy Management Team prior to the expiration date of current certificate to continue employment.
