Role Profile
At Tirlán CountryLife gardens are our second nature, and with 15 garden centres around the country, and an award winning ecommerce platform; Tirlán CountryLife is at an exciting juncture in its growth and development journey. With an €11m phase one store development investment recently announced, and the first new concept store completed in Tirlán CountryLife Bunclody, we are looking for a vibrant and experienced brand manager to lead the future communications strategy and execution for the brand.

As the garden centre chain with the second largest footprint in the country, Tirlán CountryLife is an integral part of Tirlán’s wider Agribusiness Growth Category, which is the division that drives the commercial delivery of sales under the Tirlán FarmLife and Tirlán CountryLife brands. Reporting to the Retail Marketing Manager, and managing 1 direct report, the successful individual will have the opportunity to work alongside a large marketing team and a team of retail professionals who manage the commercial delivery of the full Tirlán 52 store network.

This is a hybrid role based in Tirlán’s state of the art new offices in Abbey Quarter Kilkenny.

Responsibilities Support in the strategic development of insights led annual Tirlán CountryLife brand and communications planning, which aims to delivery on the long and short term commercial objectives. Work cross functionally, alongside the Retail Marketing Manager, with operational, trading and horticulture personal to input into long-term commercial strategy planning. Always ensuring the voice of the consumer is championed. Responsible for the management of the execution of the brand plan, with the support of one Marketing Executive. Working with external agency partners to ensure the brand is delivered in all communications to a consistently high standard, in line with brand guidelines. Take an omni-channel approach to the planning and delivery of all brand communications. Working with digital marketing colleagues and agencies to ensure content curated is industry leading and in line with trends. Work closely with the Horticulture Growth and Development Manager to ensure excellence in execution of displays and point of sale instore. Paying particular attention to how promotions are communicated instore. Responsibility for the management of brand sponsorships, events and the rollout of any associated media and PR activity. Manage the brands loyalty programme, and maximise its potential to both drive sales and improve our understanding of our customer behaviour to inform future decision making. Support the Retail Marketing Manager on the design and implementation of the new store experience concept across all Tirlán CountryLife store. Monitor brand performance, including campaign analysis, promotions performance and competitor activity. Take a lead role in understanding our consumer and consistently driving for consumer centric decision making. From time to time support the wider retail marketing team on Tirlán FarmLife marketing initiatives. Management of one direct report, ensuring they are supported to achieved their potential. Annual budget planning and budget management.

Requirements A Marketing and/or related third level qualification. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant Marketing role. Retail or FMCG industry marketing experience.
Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise & manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent relationship building, communication and influencing skills. Growth mindset – embraces change and new thinking, has a ‘test and learn’ approach.
