About the role…

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and pro-active EHS (Environment Health and Safety), QMS (Quality Management Systems) and Logistics Support to join our fast-growing team at Inari Ghent. This position is a hands-on role with a focus on effective delivery, troubleshooting and cross-functional supporting all colleagues in EHS, QMS and logistics. The company provides support, supervision and coaching. The candidate ensures assigned tasks are executed efficiently and correctly, while taking initiatives to improve procedures and administration where necessary. The right candidate must take initiative, be efficient and well organized to deliver high quality results on time. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidate must enjoy a "start-up" atmosphere and be flexible, show good judgment and be willing to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to achieve goals and deliverables.


As Operations Associate , you will…

  • Work with Scientists and Research associates to support all projects and platform services
  • Independently plan and perform assigned tasks:
  • Lead the EH&S efforts at our Ghent site and act as prevention advisor: perform Risk Analysis and Job Safety Analysis, organize regular (lab) safety inspections, organize medical examinations, vaccinations and ergonomics, align on procedures with US based EHS Manager
  • Lead the QMS efforts at our Ghent site: collaborate with QMS director to implement SOPs and document management, train colleagues on document management software, follow up non-conformance tracking and CAPA (corrective action and preventive action), ensure training documentation of lab personnel
  • Assist in logistics, mainly for shipping (DNA/RNA) samples and (GM) seeds worldwide, contact with specialized shipping companies and customs if needed, establish intra-company shipping procedures
  • Proactively take up new tasks as our team and company are growing

You bring....

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of EHS and/or QMS and logistics support experience or equivalent through experience. Certified as prevention advisor (basic level or higher) or willing to follow the courses
  • Hands-on experience with QMS (document management, SOPs, non-conformance tracking, CAPA) and EHS is a plus
  • Experience with shipping, compliance and regulatory paperwork is a plus
  • Experience in (plant) biotech environment is a plus
  • Proactive, highly motivated and strong team player with a high degree of independence
  • Innovative and critical thinking, demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • A collaborative approach, open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback
